One of Mike’s favorite CA Zinfandels! 100% old vine Zinfandel. Scherrer Zinfandels are typically destemmed, but not crushed, fermented in simple open-top fermenters, and manually punched down. They are bottled without fining or filtration after at least 16 months in the barrel.
Elegant, yet loaded with old vine intensity and flavors. Deeply structured but maintains a briary sense of elegance, showing black cherry and sage aromas and complex plum, white pepper and sweet anise flavors. Best from 2018 through 2026. Understated and elegant - drinks more like a Pinot AND will not overpower food pairings of medium intensity.
