Whites

Chateau Ducasse Blanc

The wine is bone-dry, even if your first whiff of sunny, slightly tropical fruit leads you to expect otherwise. On the palate, it is luscious and mouth-coating with generous passion fruit and lychee, and yet it is racy at the same time—constructed along a sturdy spine of chalk and acidity, it bears the classic Sauvignon Blanc notes of lime and grass.

Osvaldo Viberti Langhe Nascetta

An indigenous white that was only rediscovered recently. There are oaked versions but it’s mostly unwooded. It’s usually drunk young while fresh and fruity but good examples can drink well up to five or six years. Quality has always been Nascetta's strength, producing wines that are assertively perfumed with Muscat-like floral qualities that lead to riper, tropical fruit aromas. It also has a fresh palate, with crisp apple flavors and citrus and honey notes. Overall, Nascetta wines have an expressiveness that is hard to ignore. In a region where Nebbiolo is the undisputed king of the red wines, Nascetta could be a future contender for the region's best white variety!

Reds

Turley "Juvenile" Zinfandel

Truly one of the most iconic domestic producers around, Turley makes a plethora of delicious single vineyard wines from some of the greatest old vineyards of California. These wines are expressive and full flavored examples of California history, unfortunately they are also sometimes hard to find and a bit pricey. Enter the Juvenile: most of our customers know this bottling by now, a blend of all the replanted younger vines within the dozens of vineyards they work with throughout the state. They separate young from old to preserve the concentration of their single vineyards, while also creating this awesome blend that encapsulates California Zinfandel and its varied terroir.

Layered with notes of juicy raspberry, black cherry, dried herbs, blueberry, spice, licorice and silky tannins. This medium bodied Zin has plenty of complexity and fruit with a freshness on the finish that will make make anybody happy.

Monteci "Roveiago" Rosso Veronese

Corvina, Rondinella and Merlot. Macerated on the skins for about 2 weeks to enhance the characteristics of the grapes. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation is followed by a second maceration to enrich the bouquet and give more structure to the wine. After racking and pressing, the wine is fermented in stainless steel for 6 months before bottling. This possesses primary aromas of raspberry, blackberry and light herbaceous nuances, with floral hints of violets and roses adding complexity. On the palate, the wine is soft and pleasant, round and juicy on the palate.

l'Arco Rosso del Veronese

The entry level red from an extraordinary Valpolicella producer who studied under Quintarelli for 11 years. This is mostly a typical Valpolicella (Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara) with the addition of Sangiovese and a bit of Teroldego. Generous on the nose, this is loaded with sweet black cherry, juicy raspberry, strawberry, rhubarb, flowers, leather, spice, herbs, cocoa powder and hints of dark earth. Soft, elegant and medium bodied, this is a terrific value.

Osvaldo Viberti Barolo "la Morra"

Crafted from grapes from 3 different vineyards in the commune of La Morra. The wine is aged in large oak casks for 20-24 months. Notes of iron, tar, smoke followed by deep layers of red fruit. This is a decidedly masculine style with terrific energy, that showcases classic notes of rose petals, anise, dark plum and cherry. A wonderful example of traditional winemaking.

Osvaldo Viberti "Mancine" Barbera d'Alba

100% Barbera. The wine macerates on the skins for 6-7 days. It is aged in used French barrique (225-liter barrels) for 12-14 months. One of the purest, more "serious" versions I've tasted in a while. Loads of red cherry, dried flowers, subtle savoriness, polished tannins and long finish. Great wine.
